Purpose

The purpose of this role will be to take act as the Deputy to the Financial Controller of the Finance department of our ever growing and successful online entertainment business.

 

The main tasks / responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Financial Controller by:

- Ensuring accurate and timely financial reports and interpretations of results are submitted to the Board of Senior Management relating to all areas of business functions for management meeting;

- Setting internal controls and implementing financial controls in line with relevant legislation from governing bodies;

- Performing budgeting and investigations and providing analysis of variances against budgets;

- Working closely with the Risk and Compliance department to mitigate fraudulent or suspicious transactions;

- Reviewing ICS documents written into licensing and governing body material to ensure compliance with regulators;

- Writing business documents relating to financial reporting and analysis for submission to the Board of Senior Management.

- Performing Treasury functions as necessary;

- Performing financial analysis for evaluation and monitoring of business performance;

- Preparing financial statements of group companies;

- Monitoring daily accounting functions for the headquarter and retails shops;

- Supporting initiatives to improve profitability;

- Managing and training of Finance staff;

- Assisting the HR team with the payroll function;

- Liaised with bankers, lawyers, auditors and regulatory authorities as required;

- Handling other ad-hoc assignments

 

Professional expertise

The successful candidate will possess the following:

- Degree educated in a Financially related discipline;

- ACCA post qualified with 3+ years’ worth of commercial experience;

- Have experience of acquisition and be able to deal with all the regulatory tasks needed for this;

- Be experienced dealing with multiple currencies;

- Have previous forward thinking treasury experience;

- Experience of implementing a credit policy would be advantageous;

- Excellent communication skills are a must as are a rigorous eye for detail.

 

Additional requirements

We are looking for a candidate who can think long term and be able to plan ahead in accordance to the business model. You must be detail oriented and be a self-starter and be able to motivate and manage a growing department.
